SAMAR HATOUM, Ph.D., PMP
Co-founder/ CEO
Samar is a visionary leader and seasoned project management professional with a rich background spanning more than two decades. As CEO at PIE, she is instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction, leading teams to achieve results, and driving sustainable growth in the energy sector.
Samar has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, a Certificate in Applied Project Management, and a Project Management Professional Certification from PMI with over 20 years of progressive leadership and project management experience. Samar’s prominent work experience includes managing a construction company in Dubai, UAE, overseeing numerous complicated programs and projects in various industries, and consulting in software development & testing.
Samar joined an Asplundh Engineering subsidiary (formerly Power Delivery Solutions) in 2015 as a senior project Manager to direct complex Transmission Engineering projects. This led to her promotion to managing the Transmission line of business. In 2017, she cofounded Power Industry Experts, LLC, and assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer.

DREW PIZZO, P.E.
Director of Professional Services
Drew brings an impressive array of skills and experience in Engineering & Standards, Construction Management, and Project Management that give him a unique perspective on all aspects of the project lifecycle. Holding an MBA and a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Drew’s professional journey is marked by technical expertise, practical field experience, leadership in business development, mentoring diverse teams, and fostering client relationships. He continues to focus on ensuring projects are successfully executed with excellence and compliance at the forefront.
Drew’s prior experience includes roles in Transmission Engineering and Construction Management along with leadership roles for Exelon Utilities and Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI). During his tenure at PHI, he managed significant Transmission and Distribution (T&D) capital and maintenance projects on both the design and construction side, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Drew’s career is distinguished by his ability to drive strategic initiatives and maintain a commitment to safety and quality in every aspect of his work. These qualities position him as a pivotal leader in the engineering and construction management landscape.

PAIGE BROWN, PMP
Director of the Project Management Office
Paige Brown brings a robust blend of technical skills and leadership in transmission engineering and project management. With a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a Certificate in Applied Project Management, and a Project Management Professional Certification from PMI, Paige has built a career characterized by impactful roles in utility consulting and managing high-voltage transmission line projects.
Her tenure at Power Industry Experts has been marked by excellence in overseeing project management functions, including standardization and implementing effective PMO processes. Paige’s prior experience at Asplundh Engineering Services and currently at PIE enriched her expertise in transmission maintenance program management, establishing her as a leader capable of driving measurable success in large-scale projects and programs.
Her commitment to continuous improvement, team development, and cross-departmental collaboration underscores her contributions to the field and her vision for future project achievements.
