Giving Back
Through sponsored research and collaborative projects, the PIE team is committed to creating enduring and impactful contributions to the industries, individuals, and communities we serve.
Fostering industry-academic collaboration
We’re pleased to sponsor an innovative research initiative conducted by senior students and their professors in the Department of Material Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware. This project is focused on exploring and developing sustainable solutions for repairing and preventing woodpecker-induced damage to utility poles. With the first phase completed, the team is now advancing to the next stage of their research.
This collaborative effort between PIE and the Material Science and Engineering Department at UD exemplifies the power of education and research in addressing real-world problems. It underscores PIE’s unwavering commitment to Innovation, giving back to its industry, advancing sustainable solutions, and enhancing infrastructure resilience.

Supporting wildlife conservation
We are privileged to have supported the 6th annual NWTF/DPL Energy for Wildlife Sporting Clay Fundraiser hosted by Delmarva Power at Pintail Point. This event was an excellent combination of sporting clays, networking, and community engagement, all dedicated to preserving our vital wildlife and habitats.
Our sincere thanks go to Delmarva Power for coordinating such a significant event. We are also immensely grateful to our distinguished clients and guests, Steve Lawrence and Chris Cardoni, whose presence made the day even more special and enjoyable.
